Robert Lee Anderson

Robert Lee Anderson11 (Henry Lee Anderson10, John Almos Anderson9, Susan Jane Damron8, Charles C. W.7, Wilson6, George5, George4, Lazarus3, George2, Lawrence1)   was the second son of Henry Lee and Belle (Moyer) Anderson.  He was born 19 AUG 1912; married Dolores Blanche Harrington, 12 AUG 1933; and died 7 APR 1946. He is also buried at the IOOF Cemetery at Metropolis, IL.

Robert Lee and Dolores eloped and headed from Metropolis, Illinois, to Baltimore, Maryland in 1933.  They married along the way in Johnson County, IL and spent a good part of their married life in Baltimore.  Bob's brother Dale and sister Mary Alice also eventually re-located to that area.

Bob and Dolores were the parents of three children:  Mary Elizabeth (Beth); Dolores Isabelle; and Robert Warren Anderson.  Little Dolores Isabelle died at about the age of two.

Bob was employed as an aircraft worker at Allied Aviation at the time of the birth of his son 28 OCT 1942.  His son's birth certificate indicates that the family had lived in the Baltimore area about eight years.

The family had returned to Illinois (Pekin, Tazewell Co.) at the time of Bob's death at the age of 33. Dolores was 29.  Daughter Beth was 11 and Bobby was three and a half.

Bob Anderson's death certificate lists the cause of death as "spontaneous cerebral apoplexy". (stroke).  His occupation is listed as bookkeeper.  Industry:  plumbing.  The family resided at 911 Caroline, Pekin, Illinois.  However, Bob's death occurred in Chicago where he was looking for work.  He had been in Cook County Hospital for only three hours when he died at 10 PM.
